E-seníors is a non-profit non-governmental organization, founded in 2005 by Monique Epstein, the general manager of the association. E-seniors aims at fighting e-exclusion by providing access to and training in ICT to seniors and/or disabled people.
E-Seniors takes part in several European projects that helps seniors to stay autonomous and healthy at home. These projects are financed by the European Commision thanks to AAL, FP7 and H2020 programmes. The role of E-Seniors is to represent end-users; it means seniors in these projects and to gather their needs and advices. Besides, Hospitals, nurses, caregivers, doctors, universities and families are involved all along these projects.
E-Seniors will show that, thanks to these European projects, the association helps seniors to access to quality medical and care services as a fundamental human right.
I – ACCESS
Indeed with these European projects, the communication is improved between doctors and caregivers, formal or informal.
For instance, TOPIC (the Online Platform for Informal Caregivers). It aims to support informal carers in their daily needs with a Care Portfolio. In TOPIC, we aim at providing a solution by diminishing family carers´ burden, by then decreasing all the related problems, and offer them a better quality of life and independence. It will then reduce all the related costs of these „hidden patients“.

II – QUALITY
In these projects, different tools and ICT solutions are used such as indoor GPS, virtual reality, social network, butler…
For example, „ALFRED“ (Personal Interactive Assistant for Independent Living and Active Ageing) is a project which develops a virtual butler linking for the older persons. This service will be encouraging the seniors to be an active part of the society and promoting an autonomous lifestyle for the older adults.
